I bought my first condo in 1998. It was in an 8-unit complex and self-managed. I sold it four years later and moved to a condo in a 149-unit complex. I was elected to the first board (after conversion) with the highest number of votes. I continue to serve on the board and am proud to do so.
I also advocate for all condominiums, especially the small associations (under 100 units). I try to share my knowledge and encourage condo owners to get educated on the business of homeowner associations. It is vital that every condo owner is involved, in touch, and informed.
