Legal advice from your attorney or collector is advisable, providing they grasp the data science.  You have more options to reach out to the debtor as a first-party, versus a collector or attorney acting as a third-party, and effective debtor education can vastly reduce the need for legal action.  This can mean more work for your manager and less money for your attorney, so be mindful of their motives.
