Bio

Tobey Oxholm has been an officer or member of his planned community's executive board for fifteen years. Trusted by both sides, he helped lead the transition from developer control in 2015 and rewrite all of the governing documents, rules and regulations. He began his career as a trial lawyer in Philadelphia, representing plaintiffs and defendants and serving as a court-appointed arbitrator and mediator for almost 30 years; then spent 10 years leading universities, involved every day in creating more from less and resolving fights over just about everything; and then retired to his home in Northeast PA where he offers his alternative dispute resolution (ADR) service, with a focus on planned communities. Drawing on his experiences, he has contributed well over 200 postings to CAI's Open Forum (half of which have received recommendations), led two CAI educational programs on ADR, created a three-part podcast explaining ADR that is now on the CAI website, and, most recently, presented a one-hour webinar on "Getting to Yes Before Getting the Subpoena," also available through CAI.  In addition to CAI, he is a member of the Mediation Panel of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania; the Association of Conflict Resolution; and the Bar Associations of Wayne, Lackawanna, Pike, and Monroe Counties.
