Never heard of an HOA until relocating from Los Alamos, NM to Kabletown, WV in the early 1980s. Retired from the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History. Using my career knowledge I became active within my HOA, helped found a non-profit organization in 2009 expressly for WV HOAs at large and participate in local & state government. A major goal is obtaining representation & oversight by our legislative body. They may write the laws we adhere to though many are oblivious to enforcement of laws related to quasi-governmental HOAs. WV HOAs need a champion and I am pleased to be a part of that need.
